Camp Woodbury Dexter Wedding

Even though I had spent many years in Ann Arbor, I had never heard of Camp Woodbury prior to Carissa reaching out to me and letting me know that was the venue that her and her partner Jake had selected for their wedding. Even though your mind might go to super rustic when you think of a camp, Carissa and Jake were able to elevate this location into a beautiful and elegant nature infused wedding day. I never thought I would have a couple take me up on jumping into a canoe on the day of their wedding (and risk falling in!), but Carissa agreed when I brought the idea up when I found out the camp would have canoes that could be used. Between canoe couples portraits to hanging out with Josie, their beautiful fur baby for part of the day, it was truly the best wedding day. The sunset on their wedding day was one that I won't soon forget; it was like cotton candy painted the sky as the sun went down and their guests were roasting s'mores by the open fire as we snapped the last images of the night. Mmmmm...now I'm craving s'mores on this cold March day in Michigan; time to bust out the marshmallows on my gas stove!
